Nick Wills: A Collection of Masterpieces

Nick Wills: A Collection of Masterpieces is a compilation of three works that were initially smaller projects and simply a snippet of what could be a larger work and were expanded upon into longer, more suitable stories. The first of the works is a genre study named Winter Hero and follows our lovable hero on a journey to capture one of the most dastardly villains the world has ever seen. The second story is a photographic memoir; a more personal piece. It is named Taking Flight and discusses the background of a particular photo, specifically the journey and struggles of attaining my private pilot license. The third piece is from a free-write assignment. The prompt used was “Every injury you endure makes you stronger; smaller bullets make you resistant to larger ones, colds make you more immune to deadlier viruses, and scrapes protect you from worse injuries.” Guardians puts this prompt at its center and follows the life of Shamrock as he navigates his new role in a dystopian society.
