The 100 Greatest Everton Moments

In this book we aim to chart what we have chosen as the 100 best moments in Everton history. From the congregation at St Do-mingo’s church deciding to start up a football team to keep their cricket team fit in the winter, to Yakubu scoring the last of his 20 goals in the 2007-08 season, we aim to follow Everton’s illustrious history one major step at a time. We have spoken to a number of former Everton players, and sup-porters who have been through the thick and thin of being an Evertonian. From Tony Kay feeling proud to come back to Mersey-side, to Colin Harvey dreaming about his best Everton goal, to George Orr, who stands outside the Winslow every game selling his fanzine taking a trip down memory lane to reminisce over falling head over heels for the player we call The Golden Vision. These personal “greatest moments” that we are proud to include in this book prove what Alan Ball said to be true: “Once Everton has touched you, nothing will ever be the same again.”
