An effective and holistic approach in psychotherapy is to help individuals reduce their anxiety and depression by focusing their attention on the present instead of on the past or the future. The wisdom of encouraging individuals to live in the present has been a major part of all of the living spiritual traditions for the past 3,000 years. Examples are given in this booklet showing how the concept of Living In The Present is a part of most of the major faiths. It is the purpose of this work to show that we can exercise this same wisdom to help our clients cope with their depression, anxiety and distress by learning to live in the present.
