Human Resource Management Culture In Thailand

This book sets out to help readers gain a better understanding of personnel management in SMEs in Thailand. It is an attempt to understand how the socio-cultural environment of Thailand impacts personnel management practice and behaviour in Thai SMEs. The author studied personnel management practices in fifteen SMEs through interviews with both managers and employees, observations, and the study of secondary literature and company documents. Focus is set on companies with less than 200 employees, which are owned and managed by Thai nationals, and which have their key area of business activity within Thailand. While personnel management is at the centre of the research, aspects of general management are also covered where it seemed helpful in understanding the context of the general research findings.
