I was in my preteens and doing speeches for the holidays for church. I would do my own speeches. As I got older I began doing more writing in my early teen years.
In adulthood, in church, I was called to be a missionary and began to do even more writing. From there I found myself being called on to write papers and speeches for others, including my brothers and sisters. Also, for family gatherings.
Each time I wrote poetry, it was for someone else, and writing poems about them was better than store-bought cards and more personal. My family enjoys receiving special poems about them.
Especially my grandchildren. They were especially excited to know that the pieces written about them were going into this devotional book.
