PETROLEUM GEOCHEMISTRY OF THE BENGHAZI BASIN

In this book the author conducted a geochemical evaluation of wells A1-NC 120, A1-NC 173 and A1-NC 202 in order to create a new vision for the Benghazi Basin. The main goals are as follows: (1) Determine the absolute age of rocks in order to construct the first stratigraphic chart of the Benghazi Basin; (2) Evaluate the source rocks in terms of organic geochemical characteristics; (3) Test the shales that provided a reliable basis for the evaluation of shale gas resources; and (4) Conduct an organic geochemical assessment of natural gas and crude oil in the reservoirs using petroleum inclusion technique.
