Raid

This student-written graphic novel tells the story of two young boys who are captured by a rebel group in Eastern Congo. The rebels make money mining coltan, a conflict mineral used in technology like laptops and cell phones. The original story is written and illustrated by a 10th grade student who studied conflict resources, planned obsolescence, and storytelling in his high school social studies and language arts classes in Muscatine, Iowa.
