Un-Inventing the Church

In many instances today, the church has gotten too big for its britches. The church as we encounter it in the Bible has often been re-invented, at times even over-invented, arrogating to itself rights and privileges and responsibilities for which it was never intended. This book offers an un-invention of this vaunted conception of the church, while retaining its comparatively exalted place in the primitive record, which depicts a modest ecclesiology.
