Metoxit Memories: The Fourth Generation
Usually printed in 3 - 5 business days
This book examines the effects of childhood freedom at a Cape Cod summer community over a forty-year period. It includes thirty-three interviews with people who are now adults but who spent their summers on Metoxit Point, which is located on Waquoit Bay, a large bay on Cape Cod located between Falmouth and Cotuit. They sailed, swam, foraged, and played night games together, supported by an adult community of relatives and friends who gave them almost total freedom. The authors describe the effects this freedom seems to have had on the children who enjoyed it.
