plbartlett lives in Baltimore and tends apple trees on a farm in West Virginia. Over the years, he has self-published a memoir of culinary life with famed restauranteur Morris Martick; 6 chapbooks, and 4 full length collections of poems. Years ago he attended Antioch College & studied poetry with Grace Cavalieri. In subsequent years, he served as administrator of the Maryland Writer’s Council, the Red Door Hall poetry & performance venue, and publisher of the monthly literary news letter Hard Crabs.
As resident of Chesapeake Bay, blessed with a number of oyster shucking pals, he has long loved it's history and cuisine. The region's poets and auteurs of every stripe were a bonus! Culinary life led to a professional career as chef. Long journeys through the hills of West Virginia to the farm owned by his wife and her sister led to orchard planting, cider & brandy production.
The luck of the draw placed a fountain pen and notepad his pocket to chronical the journey.
