The Long Happy Life of Penelope

Penelope Louise Wehr Burris was born in Pasadena, California in October 1938. They called her Penny Lou. She soon had two younger sisters, Mary Linda and Karen Lee Wehr. The family moved to Antelope Valley in 1946. Penny went to high school and junior college in Lancaster. She married James Burris and they had three children: Jon Nathan, Pamela Suzanne, and Joseph Robert Burris. Penny was always a student and she returned to college at CSUS in Sacramento when she was 38, graduating in 1981 with a BA in social science. She became a grandmother at the age of 44. She now has four grandchildren and four great grandchildren and she resides in Idaho.
