Eagle Claw Hostage Rescue

Seizure of the American hostages in Iran following the United States offer of sanctury to the Shah led President Carter to order a rescue operation under the codename Eagle Claw. From the outset the plan was dogged by difficulties chiefly caused by trying to combine four different military services into an effective force to mount the rescue.
