About Peter Starbuck

Peter Starbuck, who initially qualified as a quantity surveyor, has worked independently since 1966, when he formed with partners a construction, training and house building venture – the first of his many enterprises. Introduced to Drucker’s ideas in 1974, he was an immediate convert, finding them applicable not only to business but also to the varied public and charitable organisations he was involved with in education, health, social housing, training and the water industry. While continuing commercial work, 20 years ago he began devoting half his time to studying Drucker and related thinkers. His study was formalised in a PhD on the Genesis of Drucker’s Ideas, and he is now accepted as an expert on Drucker. From his private “think tank”, he lectures and coaches young managers. He holds fellowships with the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, the Chartered Institute of Building and the Chartered Management Institute and a PhD from the Open University Business School.
