Famous In the Maratoto

This book has been written so that you can further investigate the mines of the Maratoto safely. However, anyone who loves mines often wants to know a bit more about them and certainly how to get to them. This book is not a history or a text on economic geology but it does introduce you to both areas of interest. The author and his friends probably have as many questions about the Maratoto’s mining enterprises as anyone else, but too little has been written. It is hoped that one day someone with better skills and a deeper interest will use this book as a stepping stone to a fuller treatment of what went on during the mining years. Sadly, too much information has already disappeared and cannot be traced. For example, where are the records and plans of those mining companies that have ceased to exist?
