Descendants of James Ahern Sarah Casey and Mary Boland

James Ahern was born and raised on a small mountain farm in Upper Skeheen, County Cork. In addition to farming, he was a carpenter by trade. He married Sarah Casey in 1880 with whom they had nine children. Following Sarah's death, James married Mary Boland and twelve children were born of this marriage. Of the twenty-one children born of the two marriages, four died young. Ten of the surviving children emigrated to the United States. Of the seven remaining children, two spent a period of their lives working in England while Tom a merchant seaman, based in the Bristol area in the Southwest of England, travelled all over the world.
