For two thousand years the works of Plato have informed the thought of philosophers in the West. This volume contains three of his political works: "Statesman," which concerns the nature of leadership; "The Republic," his greatest and most comprehensive work, concerning justice both in the individual and in the aggregate; "Laws," his longest and final work, concerning the origins and right practices of the state.
