Low Bridge High Water is a collection of poetry that at once memorializes a history, culture, a region and a people. Focusing on Black folks, specifically from the Chesapeake and Mid-Atlantic region. Porscha tells the stories of her family, her own physical and mental illnesses and the lasting impacts of racial violence, COVID, and brutality.
While unflinching in its look at the troubles, obstacles and high waters this collection excels in highlighting the bridges, the magic, and the love that have carried these spirits to higher ground.
