To Colorado and Beyond
A 1947 trip of two Massachusetts railfans across North America
Usually printed in 3 - 5 business days
This is the story of a trip taken in May, 1947 by two friends from Massachusetts, Donald G. Hills and Preston S. Johnson. During this trip they traveled by train when ever possible across the United States, from their homes in Massachusetts to southwest Colorado to ride the narrow gauge trains there. From Colorado they continued on to Los Angeles and San Diego, California, then headed north up the west coast to Portland, Oregon before turning east. On their way home they traveled from Chicago to Toronto and Montreal, Canada before heading home. This book includes 270 photographs, many in color and many never published before, along with maps, timetables, train orders and ticket stubs. This is a book by railfans, for railfans, and includes images of many things that are gone forever.
