From where we're from: A poetry anthology written by students

Adapted from George Ella Lyon's (1999) "Where I'm From" poem, this poetry anthology examines the beautiful historicized stories of elementary students at PS 305. In illustrating and illuminating their lives, students begin to give life to the sights, sounds, and wonders of the city. Their very beings resonate in the words that extend far beyond the subway lines, the Brooklyn Bridge, and the local delis on neighborhood street corners. In an anthology that describes and examines where they are from, these authors tell you that humans are made of magnificent moments and memories.
