2-works of female-led-fiction from the past comprise book-three of the “Malevolent Intentions” collection. “A Scandal in Bohemia Revisited”, from Sandrine Bessancort, gives us Sherlock Holmes as we have never seen him in this retelling of Conan Doyle's tale of 'the woman' and Doctor Watson's posthumously discovered account of her true effect upon the great detective… An effect likely to lead to the very worst kind of human bondage. REVIEW FROM GOODREADS: “This is an adaptation of the Sherlock Holmes short story, A Scandal in Bohemia. The story was made famous in the TV series Sherlock where it was adapted differently, but which also made the female nemesis a dominatrix character. This version seems to precede that. It's also much more subtle and in the Victorian style. The setting, the writing and the way characters interact are all in keeping with the spirit of the original and give it a sense of authenticity. As appropriate, the femdom parts are more implied than anything else. This serves well and allows the Adler character to remain powerfully elusive and anticipated, to some extent haunting the story and with her activities teasing the detectives. She is rather the source of the nefarious goings on and the puppeteer behind the events. As it begins to dawn on us that she is a dominant woman and facts trickle out, the intrigue only deepens… Do not expect a femdom erotica novel with sex, the fempower is more part of the story and what is happening, the mystery of what is unfolding behind closed doors. In those terms it is an excellent take on a vintage tale. Great short story and version.” Finally, we have Rafael Menton’s “Madame Fabienne”, containing Mr Menton’s erotic retro tales of human bondage and hypnotic mind control, “Revisiting a Woman of Haiti” and the complete edition of “Bound in Port-au-Prince”; in which the fateful meeting of the older Curzon brother with the island woman known as “Madame Fabienne”, some years before – along with the death of all he held dear – will find itself revisited and repeated on the younger… A repetition involving emasculating service and, eventually, tragedy! Two works of female-led fiction for the lover of the cruel and powerful woman.
