Goddess Bagalamukhi carries a cudgle in her hands to smash the troubles faced by her devotees. हिन्दु धर्ममा दश महाविद्यामध्ये आठौं महाविद्याका रुपमा बगलामुखीलाई लिइन्छ । माता बगलामुखी स्तम्भन शक्तिकी अधिष्ठात्री देवी हुनुहुन्छ । माता बगलामुखीले आफ्नो भक्तको दुःखकष्ट हटाएर शत्रु तथा खराब शक्तिलाई नास गरिदिनुहुन्छ । बगलामुखी दुई शब्द मिलेर बनेको छ, पहिलो बगला र दोस्रो मुखी । बगलाको अर्थ विरुपणको कारण भन्ने हुन्छ भने मुखीको अर्थ मुख हो । देवी बगलामुखीको पूजा विशेषगरी स्तम्भन अर्थात् कुनै कार्यमा आउने रोकावटलाई खोल्न गरिन्छ । देवी बगलामुखीको आराधना गर्नाले कुनै पनि झुटा आरोप, मुद्धा मामिलाबाट सहजै छुटकारा पाउन सकिने विश्वास गरिन्छ ।
