LIGHT HUNTING

In Light Hunting, artist Rebecca Volynsky examines things she has never been able to fully express within her regular collages. She was born in the US shortly after her family arrived from Belarus. An inevitable sense of disconnect developed between family members throughout the years, as they all grew distant from one another. She confronts these issues as well as those with other close relationships through written word and illustration. Light Hunting includes the most personal work Volynsky has ever created. The free form writing style somehow quickly launches words onto paper while she attempts to gain a deeper understanding of her closest relationships and most complicated feelings. The process of writing was a major risk in her creative practice that allowed her creative practice to become a transformational method of moving forward in life.
