Uncertainties

This book is what its title states: a discussion of doctrine and indoctrination and an account of one man’s eventual escape from them. The first half contains an autobiographical summary, covering home, school, 12 years as a Jesuit, then marketing and fundraising; with two marriages, five children and some significant relationships. Disillusion, gradually, accompanied these experiences. The second half discusses main topics: Jesus as distinct from the Christ, the church and its teachings, consciousness and souls, our physical minds and universe. The conclusion is positive: the uncertainties are uplifting and productive. The book is challenging.
