People are people whether on Earth or in outer space. Unfortunately that means human failings like crime will inevitably follow us as we explore the cosmos. Kidnapping, murder, extortion and theft continue to be transgressions that need investigation even among the stars. Luckily veteran of the Cosmic Wars, Rick Random, is on the case. As an agent for the Interplanetary Bureau of Investigation Rick Random’s mission is to solve mysteries on the various Earth colonies across the universe. Illustrators Bill Lacey and Ron Turner both have exemplary crisp and detailed art that is reminiscent of the later works of the brilliant Alex Raymond and Hal Foster. The series is vastly better than this humble description. Rick Random ultimately appeared in twenty-six issues of U.K. SUPER-DETECTIVE LIBRARY. RICK RANDOM’S MYSTERIES IN SPACE is an amazing treat for fans of both the science fiction and detective genres. RICK RANDOM also starred in U.K. SUPER-DETECTIVE LIBRARY #127 but the only scans I could locate of that issues were missing four pages.
