Bob Blake rushes to his friend chemist Harry Thurston's house to help him with an
experiment that has gone awry. Thurston's left hand has been turned into a water spout.
In Bob Blake’s efforts to help him Blake unwittingly turns his entire body into gushing
water. Fortunately, a counter-active chemical is used on both men and they are returned
to their normal forms. Bob Blake, living during the Great Depression, when crime is
running rampant and Global unrest is threatening the security of the United States,
decides to take injections of the chemical and become Hydroman
Hydroman was created by Bill Everett (who also created the Sub-Mariner for Timely
Comics) and first appeared as a feature in REG’LAR FELLERS HEROIC COMICS #1 , published
in August of 1940 by Eastern Color Printing Company. The title changed its name with issue
#16 to HEROIC COMICS in January of 1943. Hydroman remained a thrill packed feature in
the series through issue #29.
