Bob Blake rushes to his friend chemist Harry Thurston's house to help him with an experiment
that has gone awry. Thurston's left hand has been turned into a water spout. In Bob Blake’s
efforts to help him Blake unwittingly turns his entire body into gushing water. Fortunately, a
counter-active chemical is used on both men and they are returned to their normal forms. Bob
Blake, living during the Great Depression, when crime is running rampant and Global unrest is
threatening the security of the United States, decides to take injections of the chemical and
become Hydroman
Hydroman was created by Bill Everett (who also created the Sub-Mariner for Timely Comics) and
first appeared as a feature in REG’LAR FELLERS HEROIC COMICS #1 , published in August of 1940
by Eastern Color Printing Company. The title changed its name with issue #16 to HEROIC COMICS
in January of 1943. Hydroman remained a thrill packed feature in the series through issue #29.
