In 1954 Frederic Wertham's Seduction Of The Innocent hit the stores; it accused comics of destroying the minds, morals, and social health of American youth through graphic depictions of sex, drugs and violence. He cited many specific comics in his now-debunked tirade against comics, including the books in this volume: TRUE CRIME COMICS V1 #2, FAMOUS CRIMES #3, CRIMES BY WOMEN #10, PUBLIC ENEMIES #2, WEB OF EVIL #1, MEET CORLISS ARCHER #1, JUNGLE COMICS #98, CRIME AND PUNISHMENT #59, WANTED #12, CRIME DOES NOT PAY #76, FRONTIER ROMANCES #1, EXPOSED #6, AUTHENTIC POLICE CASES #6 and T-MAN #4. This book was compiled with the best images currently available. That stated, these comics are seventy years old. The best efforts have been made to make the pages as enjoyable as possible but not every panel is perfect and some allowances for the age of the books need to be considered when judging the overall contents.
