The Witness

While she was raising children, tending house, teaching and protecting her home town of Lloyd, Florida, from those who threatened its historic character, Rhea Bond Miller was also writing poetry. And not just any poetry. The 70 poems in this collection were written between 1941 and 2010 and stretch from simple hop-scotch rhythms to complex, thoughtful reflections. Some are as spontaneous as shooting stars, others as carefully considered as life itself. But always they illuminate, and always they believe. From pink rainbows to chugging washing machines, Miller found wisdom in all she witnessed and fitted her insights to rich, wondrous verse.
