Set in Texas in the 1930s near the beautiful Brazos River and "Crazy Town", known for its Miracle Waters' and odd escape from The Great Depression -
a handsome Abbot Vargas, town-no-good, is at the very bottom of his life. He sets out to escape tragic events in his past and the haunting memory of a little boy -
A wrong road taken finds him more trouble. Aztec culture, volatile women, outlaws, cattle disease, and "the beautiful lady in the white dress" with whom he forges an unlikely friendship. He knows that he will never be good enough to have a 'real lady', and will never be good enough for her.
There is his curious hobby of writing postcards which he never mails, and no one reads. *at least not in his lifetime.
Readers will definitely fall for the handsome, and tortured hero, as he loves and tries to please the women in his life, all the while searching for peace from his past.
