Forget the Alamo & Follow Adonai!
a short novel about stubbornness and vainglory on both sides of the Rio Grande
Usually printed in 3 - 5 business days
This new edition (formerly titled 'Jacob & Esau on Both Sides of the Rio Grande') is the roller coaster ride that is the love/hate relationship between Texas and Mexico. What do you think about when you hear the word 'Alamo'? Does it bring to mind the Comanche trails from Texas into Mexico? Or does it recall the generational curses hurled from Spain and Italy onto English shores? Or does it make you think of statues of Adonai all over the American continent? The opening scenes bring the reader to just days before the Battle of the Alamo and folds together the Protestant and Catholic dance that opens up on both sides of the river that divides them. The adventure covers almost 200 years of motives. Not only are their destinies entwined on the Rio Grande, their fates are fastened by political journeys which define each other. It is like the story of Jacob and Esau resurrected, as the Lone Star State and Mexico reflect each other's dichotomy.
