There is divine identity politics and there is mortal identity politics: God's ways and man's ways. God the Father showed the world his politics through the Bible; sinful man has shown his politics throughout history. The identity of the world is heavy; the identity of Jesus is light. When the world combines its wickedness with its own fallen identity, it comes up with wicked and mortal identity politics; when God the Son showed the world his holiness along with his identity, he revealed to the world an alternative: divine identity politics. That is what this book is about, told from the viewpoint of a Christian who comes from 2 cultures: South Africa and America.
