Slot Car Magazine – MAY 2022, issue 67

ByMarc AbbottRic Woods

Hello Everyone At last! After a three-year wait, I’m finally able to write the editorial that will go on and on about Gaydon, much to the chagrin of all our friends and readers who won’t be able to attend. Sadly, some of the ‘regulars’ also can’t make it this time – you’ll be missed and fingers crossed we’ll see you next time. Nevertheless, there’s plenty to look forward to, with a number of sneak previews of new models being promised, confirmation that this year is set to be a classic for interesting releases and possibly a bit of a challenge for those who have to come up with excuses as to why the postman has just delivered yet another box from Pendle. Then there will lots of chat and catching up to do and money to be spent. I’ll get my ‘worried mum’ bit out of the way now, by saying that Covid hasn’t gone away, infections are still rife, so please do whatever you can to avoid turning Gaydon into an infection hotspot. If you want to wear a mask, good on yer. In this issue, I think we’ve come as close to the ‘something for everyone’ tag as we ever have, with three scales, digital and scenic figures all being covered. I can only apologise to avid collectors of Ninco 1/28th… I won’t list everything here, as there’s a much better list over there, but I hope you enjoy the read. All the best, come and say hello at Gaydon and don’t forget, if there’s something we do that you don’t like, it wasn’t my idea. Ric
