Hello Everyone Welcome to the November issue. Yikes! That’s the last issue of 2023! It’s funny how time speeds up as you get older… This month is one of those occasions when I’ve been made acutely aware of the word that appears in small print on the cover of the magazine. The word “International”. This time we have contributions from, alphabetically, Argentina, Australia, Italy, Netherlands, South Africa, Spain, United Kingdom and the United States. And I do hope I haven’t left anyone out! I was always keen on presenting a global perspective, so you’ll understand why I am feeling just a little bit proud today. I found Brett Jürmann’s conversation with Maurizio Ferrari about copyright both interesting and disturbing in equal parts. We have car manufacturers with huge sums of money assigned to simply put the brand name in front of a largely uninterested public, but who will try to extort money from model manufacturers who will gladly put their name in front of people who are interested in cars… I suspect that somebody isn’t looking at the bigger picture, as they say. Thankfully the European courts at least seem to have the right idea. Finally, although it’s far too early to even be thinking about matters pertaining to Yule, we’ll be at the Winter Slot Car Market at Gaydon on the 3rd December. As someone with less Christmas cheer than anyone I’ve ever met, the Winter Slot Car Market is by far the best part of December as far as I’m concerned. Do come and say hello if you can be there.
