The Little Book of Providence

The subject of the book is divine providence and how since a bible-based theology was first systematized in the 4th/5th century its munificence has been diminished by some erroneous doctrines that were incorporated. That was especially a result of Augustine’s influence, who, particularly after his dispute with Pelagius, rejected any a positive role for natural law, even though such was evident in the writings of many earlier Church Fathers. These included Justyn Martyr, Polycarp, Clement of Rome, Irenaeus and Eusebius. The earliest of these will have received the Faith either from the Apostles themselves or their immediate successors such as Timothy, Titus and Philemon or men directly tutored by them. For example, Polycarp was a pupil of the Apostle John, whilst Irenaeus, who made a particular point of affirming the doctrinal unity of the second century Church, was a pupil of Polycarp. They cannot possibly have ALL been wrong about this vital aspect of God’s economy of grace. The book’s title alludes to the Little Book of Revelation and the message of the seventh angel/messenger, the meaning of which John was not permitted to record (Rev10:4). Whether, as the author surmises, that mystery is related to the subject matter of this book will be for the reader to determine.
