
The true story of a young Englishman, who emigrated to Fiji in 1912,but returned to fight for King and Country in the Great War. As a rifleman in the King's Royal Rifle Corps, he was wounded four times and also gassed. He won the Military Medal during the Battle of the Dunes in 1917. After the war, he married and returned to Fiji to become Company Serjeant Major of the Fiji Defence Corps. He trained the Fijian troops who acted as bodyguards to HRH the Prince of Wales, when he visited Suva in 1920. His story is told in full detail by his grandson.
