Usually printed in 3 - 5 business days
The history of Malden Bridge, a community in Columbia County, New York, over two centuries from 1800 to 2000. The community has a rich history of hard work, strong family bonds, and lasting accomplishments. It has served as a recognizable point of origin or residence for many generations of people and has had its own periods of exceptional activities beyond those typical of small communities. In colonial times, it was a prime location between Albany and Stockbridge, and was a key location on the road to and from western Massachusetts. In the latter 1800s and early 1900s, its importance declined with increasing use of the northern route between New York and Massachusetts, but it reemerged in the 1960s when it was chosen as part of the route of the Berkshire Spur of the New York State Thruway. The book concludes with the new millennium 2000.
