(Color Edition) Through the personal stories of the physicians, residents and staff who were there, this book tells the story of the founding of the Department of Internal Medicine at The University of South Florida College of Medicine. The true, and often times humorous, accounts of what it was like to learn and practice medicine during the early 1970’s both inspires and sheds light on a generation of doctors who paved the way for the advances in medicine that we enjoy today.
The University of South Florida Medical School was chartered by the Florida Legislature in 1965 and enrolled its charter class in 1971. Today, the medical school has transformed into a major academic medical center known statewide and nationally for its innovative curriculum. The college was renamed the USF Health Morsani College of Medicine in 2011, signifying its leading role in changing how medical schools teach physicians of the future.
