I grew up in the 40s just after the attack on Pearl Harbor during WWII. I have witnessed in my life an amazing unfolding of human life and technology. In the late 60s, the astronauts took pictures of the Earth from space and it gave us an image of the oneness of all individuals, races, nations, and cultures. This could be a harbinger for a new era of cooperation, and yet most of humanity lives with past stories and lesser motivations and continues a history, of conflict, warfare, and other unsustainable practices.
We live in an age where humanity has touched the edges of our solar system, and yet many live unconscious of their interior being and have no way to talk about the unknown in contemporary languaging. For me, the Danish theologian Soren Kierkegaard has expressed it best: G-O-D (the unknown, unknown) can be best expressed spiritually in life as consciousness of consciousness of consciousness. For his emphasis on individual existence—particularly religious existence—as a constant process of becoming and for his invocation of the associated concepts of authenticity, commitment, responsibility, anxiety, and dread, Søren Kierkegaard is generally considered the father of existentialism.
