The Beetle is an 1897 horror novel by the British writer Richard Marsh. An Ancient Egyptian Princess transforms herself into a beetle in order to seek revenge on a British Member of Parliament.
Film adaptation
In 1919 the novel was turned into a British silent film The Beetle directed by Alexander Butler and starring Maudie Dunham and Hebden Foster.
