The thoughts are versus of teachers and scholars, who taught the word of God. The pages of the Bible are the gift of life and hope. From the soul of a man came the words and teachings of his duty unto the church. The gift of a white cotton shroud is the image created from death.

Stopping to caress the hair of a man, studying the facial expression, staring blindly into the ceiling. Eyes were frozen and focused on nothing. Death had long taken the man lying on the table.
