There is a prevailing notion within the United States of America that Respect is earned not just automatically given. I disagree. Respect is something that should be automatically given to every member of the human race simply because they are members of the human race. When this world lost the capacity to innately respect other human beings it lost the capacity to have true empathy and to understand agape love. We are continually on a journey of perfection and as we move through our day we assign individuals to categories usually defined by one, maybe two, aspects. This tendency of ours to diminish individuals down to a single aspect of themselves diminishes their humanity. It entitles the person categorizing to see them as lesser. It says "you are not human" because... This book explores why respect is innate and should be given to all human beings simply because they are human, and why we should all learn to love and respect ourselves in order to actively change our world. We are social beings and we are driven by social interactions. They drive and define our world. We need to understand how we, as individuals truly define ourselves, deal with inner turmoil and hurt, and learn how to evolve into the individuals that we secretly want to be. Learning to respect yourself and others is the first step to that.
