A Declaration of the Christian Sabbath

ByRobert Cleaver

Usually printed in 3 - 5 business days
Robert Cleaver (d. 1613) was a puritan divine, and was a well known Reformed Preacher. Among works on the Sabbath and Lord’s Day, Robert Cleaver's work stands among the best. This work was one of his most well-known. One of his main texts is James 2:10-11, “Whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet fail in one point, he is guilty of all.” Cleaver covers how the Law has a place in man’s heart by nature, how the Law belongs to the regenerate, and that there are no alterations or changes of nature in the duties of the Law. He answers many questions and objections of those, in his day, that attempted to overthrow the moral law and the Lord’s Day, as well as demonstrating how Christians in the Primitive Church believed that the Lord’s Day is by divine institution as a result of the moral Law. This work is not a scan or facsimile and has been made easy to read with an active table of contents for electronic versions.
