A captivating story involving two families set around Aberdeen in Scotland at a time when the first world war was raging in Europe. Davie Harley, a farm owners son is driven by remorse to join the army, after the death of his young wife in childbirth, much to the consternation of his family.
While Davie is preparing for war his beautiful sister in law Fiona, sister to his late wife, becomes bitter when Davie rejects her advances. Frustrated with her life she then pursues Davies younger brother William, who is bessoted with Fiona. She plays the young man along with just one intention, to aquire their farm and sell it from under them while Davie is away at war.
Fiona is aided by a dark violent character named Alex Findley who has his own agenda for the procedes from the farm.
Telegrams telling of Davie and Dods demise in France causes Fiona to move all out in her devious efforts, only for a ghost from the grave
stopping her in her tracks, with deadly outcome.
