Down the Pole

The protagonist, Stephen Bailey is a strange lad, meandering his way through life and school, no real career paths or goals chosen, living in an environment dominated by quarrelling parents and an almost intolerable older sister. However, he witnesses something that completely changes him and gives him a clear goal as to what career he wishes to pursue, to be a Firefighter. The now determined Stephen sets out to achieve his goal regardless of what anyone says or thinks. a story of hardship, sadness, determination, achievement, love, comradeship and hope ensues which will capture your imagination and attention as you read on to what has a surprising final twist as he aims for his goal.
