“Space Reality” is a story about twelve contestants who are supposedly chosen at random for a television reality contest by a private company to promote space tourism. Their first week begins with a rushed training regimen that is marred by disappointment and accidents, leaving the contestants with a feeling that their safety is being overlooked for the sake of publicity. One contestant in particular repeatedly tries to convince the others that there will be no space flight and that everything will be done in the local studio.
After the contestants reach their destination, they begin to learn the true purpose of the mission, but it is too late to turn back. They soon realize that their survival depends on a group effort and that the prize money no longer matters. The conclusion leaves the reader eager for the next book in the series.
