Gemma Jones and The Veil of Wizardry

Gemma Jones is an ordinary high school student until she is awarded a unique scholarship to a mysterious college in New York City called Gotham University. As she arrives at the concealed campus, Gemma discovers a vast Exceptional World of magical higher learning . . . all hidden beneath the Veil of Wizardry. The Bad News: From her rejections at the Cauldron of Keys and the Vault of Names, Gemma can’t shake the idea that she shouldn’t be there, that she’s some sort of accident of fate. The Worse News: A dark plot to tear down the Veil of Wizardry is enacted to expose and ruin Gotham University. In fact a Ravenpoe Prophecy irrevocably declares an attack on Times Square will succeed and thousands will die. The Good News: The prophecies haven’t seen Gemma Jones coming. Now if Gemma can just cram for finals, kiss the boy she’s crushing on, and save her school plus thousands of lives before Christmas Break, everything will be just chill.
