Usually printed in 3 - 5 business days
This is the story of Ronald G. Corwin's journey from his childhood home located a few houses from the city dump in Waterloo, Iowa--riding the waves of the the most expansive era in the nation's history. Included are humorous accounts of his early frustrating work experiences, his rocky athletic career and other experiences in high school; his run for student body president at the State University of Northern Iowa; his life in Japan while in the U.S. army; and his stint on skid row while in graduate school at the University of Minnesota. He discusses his children and many other facets of his personal life--including houses he lived in, his cars, his dogs. And he describes his long career at Ohio State University and the books he published there. The book ends with reflections on how his life was shaped by the historical era, by higher education in the 1960s and 1970s, his social context, his friends and neighbors, and his wife Bonnie whom he met in the 7th grade. He concludes with his philosophy of life.
