This book is based on the life of a teenage girl by the name of LaShanda White. She had found out she was adopted when she returned from summer camp.When she found out this shocking news she started to act differently. She started to drugs, drinking, and having sex with boys her parents didn't approve of.One day she just came out and told them how she felt about her being adopted. Every since then they have been arguing and fighting. Then one day her mother just decided that she wasn't going to put up with it and she left. In retaliation of hi anger he raped her. Three days later her mother returned and he pretended as though nothing ever happened.
