Also known as the Shield of David or “Māḡēn” in Hebrew, the Star of David is the most common symbol used today to express Jewish identity … but it was not always so! From a purely aesthetic point of view, it corresponds to what we call a hexagram. This geometric shape could be described by the superposition of two triangles, one pointing down and the other pointing up. However, the historical and semantic analyses will interest us during this study, particularly its meaning.
