Under their watchful guidance, Schaun learns to fly, hunt, and battle, dreaming of one day proving his strength against the trainers that roam the land. However, his idyllic life is shattered when Team Galactic invades the forest, destroying his home and taking the lives of his parents. Left orphaned and filled with sorrow, Schaun finds solace in the care of Kiki, a wise Chatot, who takes him under her wing in the distant region of Paldea. As Schaun grows stronger, the memories of his fallen family fuel his determination—he vows to one day bring justice to those who took everything from him. Years later, now a battle-hardened Staravia, Schaun’s journey takes him to Cortondo, where he crosses paths with Seifer, a seasoned trainer whose Staraptor has been captured by Team Galactic. United by their shared loss, Schaun, alongside his adoptive sister Chatot and his childhood friend Marlow the Pidgeot, embarks on a daring mission to rescue Seifer’s partner. Their pursuit leads them through treacherous terrains, from the scorching Asado Desert to the forgotten catacombs of Lake Casseroya, where they uncover a sinister plot: Team Galactic has been capturing and experimenting on flying-type Pokémon to create an elite aerial force under their control. Determined to put an end to their schemes, Schaun and his allies launch a full-scale attack on the Galactic stronghold. As the climactic battle unfolds, Schaun faces his greatest challenge yet—battling the leader of Team Galactic’s aerial unit, a ruthless Lunala with unparalleled speed and power. Drawing upon everything he has learned, and fueled by the memory of his parents, Schaun pushes himself beyond his limits, evolving mid-battle into a powerful Staraptor.
